Product Empty – Absolute Nail Polish Remover Review

Absolute Nail Polish Remover

wpid-20141217_160214.jpg

Here’s what the website said:

Perfect for use on both artificial and natural nails, one nail polish remover pad will cleanly remove polish off all ten nails. Acetone-Free, formulated with Vitamins C & E, and refreshing bursts of fragrance, our Absolute! Nail Polish Remover pads will revolutionize your manicure experience.

Here’s what I experienced:

True love! I adore this product. Its a thin oily cotton pad, place the pad on your nail, let it sit for a little, then whip. It will be an oily mess but just keep wiping. It takes 1 -2 pads (depending on the thickness of polish) to take off the polish on both hands. I love this so much because it leaves your nails polish free without any harsh chemical scent. It actually left my hands smelling like laundry dryer sheets, which was pretty nice. This means that you can take off your nail polish anywhere! At your desk, in class, on the train, even on the treadmill. I would definitely repurchase this again and again.

Product Empty – Giovanni Nutrafix Hair Reconstructor Review

Giovanni Nutrafix Hair Reconstructor

wpid-20141018_162109.jpg
$5.57 at Iherb.com

Here’s what the website said:

Deep Condition

  • Re-energizes tired, damaged hair
  • Encourages thickness and volume
  • Fills in porous hair with rich proteins

The damage is done… or is it? If you over-process your hair, you need deep repair. This penetrating hair reconstructor goes right to the heart of the problem, addressing the damage caused by chemicals and excessive heat styling, both of which can leave hair porous, raspy, weak. Dull. Nutrafix fixes these problems by infusing protein. Put this fix in your styling mix so the damage will really be undone.

Here’s what I experienced:

I love Giovanni hair products and this reconstructor is amazing! I use to be a fan of Joico K-Pak, but Giovanni works so much better for me and its more affordable! It’s got great ingredients, very affordable and it leaves my hair really soft and healthy feeling. If your looking for a good protein treatment with natural ingredients – this is the one!

NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper Review

NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper Review

wpid-20141011_154019.jpg

Here’s what the website said:

Plump your pout to its fullest, flirtiest, most fabulous shape and size with our shimmering Pump It Up Lip Plumper, formulated with Maxi-Lip. Maxi-Lip is a special peptide that we have infused into our new and improved formula. Peptides are known to improve collagen synthesis, which can lead to firmer, fuller, smoother looking lips. Go ahead. Pout about it.

What I found:

It has a minty tingle and a glossy shine that last about 30 mins. It makes my lips shiny and hydrated but definitely not larger. I didn’t find this product to plump up my lips at all. I really like it as a regular old lip gloss. My lips are shiny and moisturized without feeling too sticky (but when its windy, my hair did stick to my lips). The minty tingle really felt nice too. All in all, I would repurchase this product for sure! Just don’t expect bigger lips.

Absolute New York Absolute Love Lip Balm in Bubblegum Flavor, $5.00

This is adorable and I love that it’s bubblegum flavor! From my experience, don’t keep this lip balm in the sun and/or hot area. The tin will heat up and melt the balm, which will end up making a mess everywhere!

wpid-20150218_161319.jpg

GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliant Treatment, $69.00

I can’t speak highly enough of this mask! It’s pricy but if you look hard enough, you can sometimes find them at Marshall’s and/or TJ Maxx for half the price. I’m a little obsessed with this brand and believe me – I would NEVER pay this much for something that “kind of” worked. This is a top of the line face mask and definitely worth a try.

wpid-20150218_161412.jpg

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting, $22.50

This is a sparkly chalky white eyeshadow. I would only use this sparingly and only to highlight the tear duct area. Otherwise, I definitely won’t be reaching for this on a regular basis.

Avon Big Color Eye Pencil in Sunkissed, $3.49

Cha-Ching! Love this color! It glides on the skin like silk and leaves a great color payoff. I love the burnt bronzy gold color and I can’t wait to add this to my everyday makeup routine.

Loves it! I actually have the exact same color by Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Steel Grey, but I would love to see which polish hold up the best. That review will be coming in the future.

Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil, $46.30

I really am starting to become a fan of this brand. I have tried their hand lotions and I LOVE THEM! I’m really excited to try out this face oil. It’s all natural and packed with anti-oxidants.

Model Co Blush in Peach Bellini 02, $20

This blush feels like velvet! It slides on the skin and leaves a beautiful warm glow to your cheeks. It’s that peachy pink gold color, much like NARS Blush in Orgasm or The Balm Blush in Hot Mama.

Demeter Roll On Perfume Oil in First Love, $10.00

I really like the scent of this oil. It’s a floral scent with lemon zest, jasmine, honeysuckle, water lotus and white rose. Bonus points: because its an oil, the scent last all day.

Medusa’s Make-Up Safari Eye Shadow, $8.00

This is a beautiful purple color. I like that it has a slight sheen but it’s not glittery. I’m not a huge fan of glittery eye shadows because they fall into my eye sometimes.

Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter in Pink, $ 14.00

wpid-20150210_185354.jpg

The packaging is adorable! It looks like a mini gold crown. I also love the fact that they used natural ingredients like argan, grape seed, shea and almond oil. The color is pretty and would work well on all skin tones. This little lip butter is simply adorable!

Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner, $36.00

wpid-20150210_185453.jpg

This is an all in one hair product. It claims to clean and condition without sacrificing your color or moisture. I have tried other cleaning conditioners in the past and I’m on the fence. My hair usually feels hydrated afterwards, but also waxier and flatter with every use. I’ll give it a whirl and let you know.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara, $22.00

wpid-20150210_1856210.jpg
This mascara claims to curl and volumize the lashes while keeping lashes soft and light. I am always looking for the next best mascara and this might be exactly what I need in my life. Soft, curled, full lashes! Can’t wait to test this out.

Rituals Cosmetics Foaming Shower Gel Sensation in Yogi Flow, $15.00

wpid-20150210_185722.jpg

I like my cleansing products to foam up but this is kind of odd. It feels exactly like shaving cream. The scent is sweet and flowery but not over powering. Best part – the scent last all day, yummy!

Julep Nail Polish in Hartleigh, $14.00

wpid-20150210_185840.jpg

Hartleigh is a white, red and pink glitter in clear polish and it claims to allow your nails to “breathe” – I guess that’s better than non-breathing polishes. Anyway, love this! This polish came at the perfect time. I love that it has little glittery hearts. I’m excited to rock this for Valentine’s Day.

Clarisea Sea Salt Solutions Instant Glow Powder Exfoliant Review

Clarisea Sea Salt Solutions Instant Glow Powder Exfoliant Review, $12.00 – $30.00

wpid-e23f82848f5ca94adaf8df923ff2dda9.jpgMy skin felt like silk after using this product. I mixed it into my face wash in the morning. It turned my gel face wash into a deep cleansing exfoliant. The salt helped to keep my breakouts non existent and the vitamin c (from the plant powders) helped to make my skin glow. I can’t wait to repurchase this! It’s well worth the money and really does what it claims.

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths Review

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths, $15.00 for 30 sheets

wpid-20141015_173837.jpg

These are not your standard face wash cleansing cloths. Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths are unlike anything else I have tried. They are nothing short of amazing! You don’t need water to activate or rinse. You just grab a sheet and clean away. You could easily clean your face and body with just one sheet. It would be perfect for the gym, camping, theme parks in the summer time, literally any scenario where you want to feel fresh and clean. There is NO WATER needed! How crazy is that? It foams up without water and the foam gently cleans away dirt and sweat. The foam bubbles feel so refreshing and after a few seconds it dries, leaving you with smooth, soft, clean skin. I’m a huge fan of this product!

Easy Meal Prep – Green Smoothies

Easy Meal Prep Green Smoothies

I make 14 smoothies in less than an hour. This will help you get out the door that much faster during the week and it couldn’t be easier to make and use.

wpid-20141110_214619.jpg

Step 1.

Half a banana per bag. This will sweeten your smoothies naturally.

wpid-20141109_210214.jpg

Step 2.

Half cup of blueberries. I love blueberries!

wpid-20141109_210612.jpg

Step 3.

Half cup of frozen fruit. This one has cherries, blueberries and strawberries.

wpid-20141109_210859.jpg

Step 4.

Half cup of spinach in each bag. This gives you a “green” smoothie.

wpid-20141109_211219.jpg

Step 5. (Optional)

This is an optional step. I like to put greek yogurt in my smoothies (the extra protein keeps me from getting hungry sooner) and I also like everything I need in one bag. That’s why I like to put the yogurt in ice trays (the night before) and freeze them. Then I put 2 yogurt cubes in each bag.

wpid-20141109_212340.jpg

wpid-20141109_213226.jpg

Finished!

You get 2 weeks worth of green smoothies and it will make breakfast a no brainer. Toss the whole bag into a blender, add water, juice or coconut water, blend and done! This green smoothie will keep you full for about 2-3 hours.

Accidental Big Hair Volume

Biotera Dry Shampoo, $6.99

wpid-20150129_060141_wm.jpg

I was trying out this dry shampoo the other night and learned two things:

1.       I did not succeed at faking freshly washed hair.

2.       I found a product that gives me the biggest hair of my life.

I purchased this product awhile back from Sally’s, with the intention of getting on the dry shampoo band wagon. It did ok as a dry shampoo – a little goes a LONG way and it did leave my scalp feeling fresh. However, what stood out to me the most was my hair – my actual hair stood OUT, not down! Volume for days! I have tried SO many products in search of crazy Texas size volume, but nothing has ever blown my expectations away like this product.

TIP: Instead of teasing or just before you tease, apply this to the root, comb through and get ready for the biggest hair of your life.
